Adam D. Zoia
Adam's entire career since 1997 has been applying technology to recruiting. Glocap, an executive search and temporary staffing firm where he is still the Chairman, was founded in 1997 on a then-radical idea of distribution job listings via email to reduce sourcing costs. From that simple idea, Adam lead the building of a complete, bespoke recruiting software platform which has been continuously upgraded and during Adam’s tenure as CEO for 20 years consistently enabled Glocap to to earn industry leading margins. Glocap sources, assesses and places financial professionals with global clients include leading private equity, hedge funds, real estate, family office, investment banking, venture capital firms and since 2013 digital media functions across many enterprise types. Glocap has made over 18,000 placements and has booked over $600 million in revenue since its founding.
In 2015, Adam started his next tech-enabled recruiting business when co-founded, invested in and conceived of Stella.ai, Inc., a NYC-based artificial intelligence company that pools together and automatically recirculates non-hired hourly applicants from some of the largest companies in the US. Stella has raised over $26 million in financing and counts AT&T, Hilton, Hyatt and many other large hourly employers as its customers. Adam has been Stella’s CEO since 2018 and prior to that was its Chairman. He and serves on Stella’s board.
In 2016, Adam founded, invested in, and served as CEO of CompIQ until it was bought by Stella in 2018. CompIQ uses big data and machine learning to provide employee-by-employee, customized compensation benchmarking data and also serves as a compensation management and equal pay compliance system.
Adam has authored numerous articles in leading trade journals and publications as a subject matter expert on recruiting, human resources technology, human capital structures and compensation practices. He also regularly appears on tv. Adam is a regular conference speaker.
Adam graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. from the Wharton School, summa cum laude with a B.A. in History from the University of Pennsylvania and earned the Joseph Warney Yardley Prize for Academic Excellence and Leadership upon graduation and was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar and a Joseph Wharton Scholar while at Penn. Adam graduated with a First in all subjects and on his thesis with an Honours B.A. from Balliol College, University of Oxford and magna cum laude with a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Prior to founding Glocap, Adam was a teaching fellow in economics at Harvard College and worked at McKinsey and DLJ.
Adam is an active marathoner and triathlete and has completed two Ironmen and many marathons. He is an active real estate investor, invests in and advises early stage tech companies. Adam is passionate about geology and climate change and is a Board member and is the Treasurer of the Riverside Park Conservancy in NYC.
